Phyllis A. Donaldson, 69, Fullerville, passed away on September 22, at the Champlain Valley Physician’s Hospital in Plattsburgh.
Her graveside service will be in the Fullerville Cemetery on Tuesday, September 27, at 12 p.m. with Pastor Bob McCrory of the Fowler Baptist Church, officiating. There will be gathering held at the Gouverneur VFW following the service. Funeral arrangements are handled through French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Phyllis was born on March 7, 1942. in Fowler to the late Douglas and Elva (Hendrick) Simmons. She graduated from the Gouverneur High School and has lived in this area for most of her life.
Her survivors include her longtime companion, Bradley Card of Fullerville; three sons, Jeffrey and Elizabeth Donaldson of Potsdam, Timothy Donaldson of Gouverneur, Frederick Donaldson and his companion April LaBow of Fowler; two sisters, Ella Donaldson of Gouverneur, Clara and Philip Fuller of Champlain; and three brothers, Lester and Debbie Simmons of Fine, Gordon Simmons of Balmat, and Herbert and Ellie Simmons of Fowler and a sister-in-law, Karen Simmons. She is also survived by her five grandsons, Bruce, Matthew, Ryan, Benjamin and Tanner, one granddaughter, Holly Donaldson and one great grandson, Landon Donaldson, and her nieces and nephews. She also helped raise Fred Clement after he lost his parents in an accident.
Phyllis loved spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as Brad’s children and grandchildren. Phyllis enjoyed socializing with her friends, playing shuffleboard, visiting the casino, and using her computer.
Phyllis is predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Wayne who died in childhood and Bruce who died in 2009.
