Funeral service for Pat Berger, 69, of Canton will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grace Episcopal Church, Canton with Rev. Evette Austin, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Canton. Pat died on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Highland Nursing Home, Massena.
Friends may call at the O’Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30.
Pat is survived by two sons, Michael Berger of Hannawa Falls and Roger “Buzzy” Berger II of Canton; by her mother, Thelma Pelkey of Canton; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Heather Livingston of Oswego; a brother, Wayne Pelkey of West Plains, MO; a nephew, Tait Livingston of Fairhaven; a great nephew, Hunter; great nieces, Jessica and Amber; by special friend, Maggie Akins of Ogdensburg; her ex-husband, Roger A. Berger of Central Square; and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Lloyd Pelkey.
Pat was born on May 19, 1944 in Canton, the daughter of Lloyd and Thelma (Rawson) Pelkey. She graduated from Canton High School in 1962 and from the Watertown School of Business. She worked for St. Lawrence County for many years before becoming a switchboard operator at Riverview Correctional, retiring in 2005. Pat loved reading, watching crime shows, her cats, Chinese food, chocolate, fine wine, Sergi’s pizza and visiting with family and friends. She will be missed by many.
