Mrs. Norma Jean LaPoint-Atkinson, 78, of 629 County Route 42, passed away on Monday evening, January 10, 2011 at the St. Regis Nursing Home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Pam Shoemaker of Massena; two brothers and their wives, Leo and Bonnie LaPoint and Ronald and Joan LaPoint, all of Potsdam; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless additional relatives.

Norma was predeceased by her parents, Homer and Hattie LaPoint of Potsdam; her daughter, Robin Jean McVeen of Syracuse; and her husband, Paul Arel.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.

Donations in her memory may be made to cancer research or offer a mass in her memory at a church of your choice.
