Myron K. "Pete" Exford, 84, Edwards

Myron K. "Pete" Exford, 84, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg.

Pete was born September 14, 1926 in DeGrasse, the son of Gordon and Gladys Towne Exford. He attended schools in DeGrasse and Russell. Pete married Helen Cole on April 29, 1951 in Russell with Rev. Lawrence Heatherington officiating. Mrs. Exford, a retired secretary, passed away September 19, 2004.

The couple had resided in DeGrasse, Hannawa Falls, Star Lake, and most recently in Edwards for nearly twenty years. Mr. Exford was a mechanic for Barstow Motors for 25 years and then Craig Chevrolet-Oldsmobile, retiring in 1988. He had also worked as a licensed guide for the Twin Falls Club.

Pete had enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and had been a 50 year member of the Edwards Masonic Lodge.

Pete is survived by a sister Sallie and Frank Lanphear of Fulton; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother, Harry Exford and sisters Effie Belle Martin, Mary Henrie, and Alice Loop.

A funeral service will be Monday, February 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Rev. William Hart, pastor of Edwards United Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours are Monday, prior to the service from 1 - 2 p.m. and burial will be private in the spring in Pleasant View Cemetery, Clare.
