Myra A. Gervais, age 81, of Moira and a resident of the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the nursing facility where she had been a resident since 2011.
She was born April 1, 1930 in Benson Mines, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Kathleen Labadare Champine Jr. She attended Franklin Academy in Malone. She was a homemaker and in her early years she worked for Newberries and Woolworths stores in Malone.
She enjoyed needle craft, embroidery, watching television and taking day trips in the car. She was a member of Notre Dame Church in Malone. On June 24, 1950 she was united in marriage to Floyd J. Gervais at St. John Bosco Church. He predeceased her on June 21, 1988.
She is survived by one daughter and son in law, Nancy and Stephen Bilow of Moira; two sisters, Sandra Champagne and Elizabeth Sierra both of Malone; and one nephew, Steven Sierra.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by one brother, Gary Champagne; and a sister, Dorothy Champine.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Spring burial will be at the convenience of the family at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brushton.
