Funeral Services for Melvina E. Redmond, age 74, will be held Saturday, January 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Frary Funeral Home with Rev. F James Shurtleff officiating. Callings hours will be on Friday, January 13, 2011 at Frary Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Ms. Redmond passed away on January 11, 2012 at the home of her daughter.
Ms. Redmond is survived by her four daughters, Debra (Redmond) Kench and her husband Timothy, Sally (Redmond) Scruton and her husband Michael, Darlene (Redmond) Mashaw and her husband Edward, and Sheila Redmond and her live in companion Gary Barkley; and three sons, David Redmond and his wife Kim, Allen Redmond, and Ronnie Redmond Jr. and his live in companion Stephanie Katura; and one brother, James Petell of Watertown.
Ms. Redmond was born September 8, 1937, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Wilford Pettell and Mary Gauther Pettell. She was married to Ronald Redmond Sr. on May, 25 1957. They later divorced in 1990. She first went to work for St. Joseph’s Home, later working for OFA then at A.B. Hepburn as a Kitchen Aid.
Ms. Redmond enjoyed bingo, spending time with family, friends and grandchildren.
