Melva J. Robinson, age 74, of County Route 6, passed away Sunday Oct 6, 2013 at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility in Ogdensburg surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held privately.

Surviving is her husband, Stephen Robinson; a daughter, Kari Schermerhorn and her husband Ryan of Gouverneur; a sister, Marlene Fishel and her husband Thomas of Hammond; and grandchildren Brittany Schermerhorn of Gouverneur and Benjamin Schermerhorn of Gouverneur.

Melva was born on Dec 31, 1938 in Liverpool a daughter of the late Lawrence & Thelma (Centner) Heimerman. She married Stephen M. Robinson on Aug 31, 1963. She was employed at Sperlings Furniture Store for a period, and in 1971 she began working at D. Robinson & Sons as their bookkeeper until her retirement in 1991.

She enjoyed gambling, going to the casino, boating, watching wildlife and spending time with her grandchildren. Memorial donations can be made to the Morristown Volunteer Fire & Rescue, 200 Morris St., Morristown, NY 13664.
