Maxine T. Lindley, age 81, of Norwood, passed away on March 21, 2011 at the Crouse Irving Hospital in Syracuse. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 24th at the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam, New York from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Maxine is survived by her companion, Herbert Sweet of Norwood; a son, Lyle (Marie) Cryderman of Asheville, NC; daughters Carol Cryderman of Potsdam, Marlene Hawkins and companion Juergen Dully of Norfolk, Connie (Kurt) Waltz of Gouverneur, and Lori (Mike) Snyder of Raymondville; sister Beverly Robinson of Canton; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Kenneth Lindley; and two sisters, Dodie Draper and Norma Grant.
Maxine T. Lindly was born April 3, 1929 in Watertown, to the late John Lindley and Winifred Curtis. She attended Canton schools. On December 20, 1946 in Canton, she was married to Loren Cryderman with Rev. Robert J. McCarthy officiating. The marriage ended in divorce.
Maxine worked at the Coffee Shop in Potsdam, Smiths Tavern and the Lounge. She had a great love for dancing, singing and music. She also was an avid animal lover, especially her dog Duncan.
