Mary Judith "Judy" Redmond, 72, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Gouverneur.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Rev. Dr. Richard Mayforth, pastor of the Gouverneur First Presbyterian Church officiating and burial in Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur. Calling hours are Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Judy was born May 22, 1941 in Gouverneur, the daughter of Ralph and Sallie Leach Patterson. She was a hairdresser in the Gouverneur area for over 50 years, most recently working at Tangles. Judy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Gouverneur First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading, birdwatching, attending local fishfries and bullhead feeds, and having lunch with her friends, often at Jumbo's Diner. While raising her family, she enjoyed watching her husband race speedboats. Judy married Albert A. Redmond on May 10, 1969. Mr. Redmond, a local business owner and heavy equipment operator, passed away June 9, 2008.
Judy is survived by her children, Aaron Redmond, Christian Redmond and Denise Herheim, Ryan Redmond, and Julie Travis, all of Gouverneur; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband and her mother.
