A Mass of Resurrection for Mary H. Pellegrino, 100, formerly of Laurel Terrace, Massena will be held Thursday (January 12, 2012) at 12:00 noon at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. Mary passed away on January 8, 2012 at the St. Regis Nursing Home.
Surviving Mary H. Pellegrino is her brother, Frank and his wife Betty Pellegrino, Massena; and many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by sisters, Emma Trombino, Antoinette Stephens and Ann Mayville; and a brother, Victor Pellegrino.
Mary just celebrated her 100 birthday January 2, 2012 at the St. Regis Nursing Home with family and friends. Mary was born in Montreal, Quebec, the daughter of Frank and Caroline (Jandor) Pellegrino. Mary attended Massena Schools. For many years following her schooling, she was a devoted daughter taking care of her beloved parents.
Mary later was employed at Warner Brothers Corset Factory in Massena. She then was employed at the IGA Grocery store on North Main St, Massena. When Loblaw's Super Market opened Mary began her employment there. She retired from Brad's Big M Market as a meat wrapper.
Mary enjoyed many years as a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge; at one time she was active in the L.C.B.A . Mary was one of Laurel Terrace longest tennants .. At the family’s request memorial contributions may be made to the Meal on Wheels program for which Mary was a very grateful recipient.
