STAR LAKE -- Marvin Ralph Terry, age 72, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
Marvin was born on January 29, 1947 to the late Horace “Mike” A. and Kathleen F. (Ward) Terry. He graduated from Clifton-Fine Central School and was drafted into the United States Army where he served from June 2, 1966 until his honorable discharge on May 6, 1968. He had served in Korea during the Vietnam War.
Marvin worked for Newton Falls Paper Mill as a machine operator and paper maker from 1965 until his retirement in 1997. Marriages to Sharon Woodward and Rosie LaTray ended in divorce.
Marvin was a lifetime member of the Tupper Lake VFW, member of the American Legion Post 1539 where he served as Commander for 25 years, member of Little River Fish and Game Club, he enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was younger and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Catherine and Grover Green of Kershaw, SC, Tonya and Gary Lutz of Star Lake, Jamie and Phillip Janack of Hopkinsville, KY; a brother and his wife, Gerald and Lorna Terry of Cato, NY; 8 grandchildren, Logan, Destinii, Tori, Tyler, Brittany, Brenda, Joshua and Gary T.; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Bobby John Terry, who passed away shortly after birth; and his brother and sister-in-law, David and Marcia Terry.
