A graveside committal for infant Markell Lesley Shaw Tiller will be held at the convenience of his family in the Fairview Cemetery in Edwards. A public gathering for family and friends will be held at the home of Jeff and Linda Hill, grandparents of Markell, on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Markell was born in Syracuse on Sept. 22, 2011 at Crouse Irving Hospital.

Survivors include his parents, SFC Vernon W. Tiller stationed at Ft. Drum, serving in Afghanistan, and Heidii M. Hill of Gouverneur; a half-brother, Tavius A. Tiller in NC; grandparents Larry and Barbara Tiller of Gadsden, AL, and grandparents Jeff and Linda Hill of Gouverneur; great-grandparents Cliff and Mabel Davison of Edwards, and Malcolm and Lura Hill of Edwards; an aunt, Heather Hill; and two cousins, Nathaniel and Abigail Silberman of Bonney Lake Washington; aunt Jacqueline Tiller; cousin Roderick; uncle Lesley Tiller; aunt Gladysia Scott; and cousins Aniya and Laila, all of Alabama.
