Marjorie Hosmer Drummond, 88 of Gouverneur, passed away July 31, 2010 at the E. J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur after a brief illness.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be on Monday, August 2nd at 9:30 a.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Rev. William Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur.
She was born in Gouverneur August 3, 1921 Anna Marjorie Hosmer, daughter of Forest C. Hosmer and Doris Elizabeth Howe Hosmer of Macomb. Marjorie was a 1939 graduate of Gouverneur High School and 1943 graduate of Potsdam State Teachers College. The following three years she taught 7th and 8th grades at the Bellville School. Marjorie married George Elmer Drummond on November 7, 1947 at the First Presbyterian Church, Gouverneur. Marjorie and Elmer were lifelong residents of Gouverneur, where they owned and operated Drummond’s Dairy from 1947 to 1985.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Dale L Drummond and his wife Marie of Helena, Alabama; one granddaughter, Karen of Alexandria, VA. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer who passed away January 29, 2008.
Mrs. Drummond is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gouverneur.
