Margaret A. Charlebois, 90, of Malone and formerly of Moira passed away Thursday, February 16, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone where she had been a patient admitted that day.
Born February 16, 1922 in St. Anicet, Quebec she was the daughter of the late Ovila and Bertha Bourgon Gareau.
She attended school in Canada. She was a housewife and assisted her husband in the operation of their family dairy farm. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Brushton.
On April 7, 1942 she was united in marriage to Paul Charlebois. He predeceased her on February 14, 2000.
Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jack Charlebois and companion Beverly Moody of Brasher Falls, Richard and Lois Charlebois of Brushton, Robert and Terry Charlebois of Moira and Dan Charlebois and David Shawger of Morristown, New Jersey; three daughters and one son in law Diane Mainville of Ft. Covington, Pierrette White and companion Richard Prost of Whippleville and Gisele and Joseph Dufort of Malone, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, one brother Lionel Gareau of Canada, one sister Theresa Valade of Canada. Several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by twin babies in infancy and eight brothers and sisters.
Friends may call on February 20, from 1 to 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Brushton. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Christopher J. Looby officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brushton.
