Funeral services for Lucy M. Salton, 75, of State Highway 37, Ogdensburg, will be Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Fox & Murray Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, with Rev. Walter Smith, retired pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at White Church Cemetery, Lisbon.
Friends may call at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home on Monday from 2 – 6 p.m.
Mrs. Salton died at her home on Saturday morning, Sept. 3, 2011 following a brief illness.
Surviving are her husband, Robert J. Salton; a daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Lori) Sharland, Ogdensburg; two grandchildren, Brittany and Brandy Sharland; a sister, Ileen Arquitt of Winthrop; two brothers, Harlow Perry of Texas and Allen Perry (Deborah) of Euless, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Predeceasing her were a son, Randy who died on Sept 23, 2009; seven sisters, Wanda Seguin, Florence Perry, Eunice Fielding, Beulah Fields, Frances Ashley, Patricia Perry, Bettylou Perry; and two brothers, Leslie Perry and Lloyd Perry.
She was born on June 17, 1936 in Louisville, the daughter of George and Doris Holmes Perry. She attended Lisbon schools, and graduated from Canton High School.
She married Robert J. Salton on Sept. 2, 1964 at the Plumsted Presbyterian Church, New Egypt, NJ.
Her career spanned 31 years at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Ogdensburg, retiring in 1991.
She and her husband resided on Riverside Drive, Ogdensburg, since 1975. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, working word puzzles, and crocheting, tending to her raspberry patch, and making her own jam. But, she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and her dog, Brier, and her cat, Ritzie.
She was affiliated with the Nevin Memorial Church, Lisbon and a former member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Ogdensburg.
