Funeral services for Lucille Wells, age 97, of 930 Clark Street, will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Notre Dame Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Frary Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Wells passed away on January 5, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Home.
Mrs. Wells is survived by two daughters, Patricia Amo and her husband Richard and Judy Dalton and her husband Richard, both of Ogdensburg; two sons, Harry Wells and his wife Patricia and Donald Wells and his wife Cindy, both of Ogdensburg; three sisters, Irene Jenne of Russell, Jean Kammer of Ogdensburg and Marie Scata of Mount Kisco; two brothers, Daniel Burnham of Sacketts Harbor and Donald Burnham of Canton; and seventeen grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy Hill; and one brother, Robert Burnham.
Mrs. Wells was born on March 26, 1915 in Piercefield, the daughter of Aaron and Adaline Mousaw Burnham. She attended schools in Canton. She married Harry Wells on September 5, 1934 at St. Mary’s Church in Canton with Rev. John O’Neil officiating. He passed away on May 28, 1991. She worked for a short period of time at Cleveland Container in Ogdensburg and later worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s business.
Mrs. Wells was a past member of the Moose.
