Lucille Loose, age 93, formerly of Canton, passed away on February 10, 2011. A private interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Canton in the spring.
Lucille was born to Louis A. and Clara (Gilbert) LaRock in Ogdensburg on September 29, 1917. Following her marriage to Charles Murray Collins of Canton, Lucille raised her family and worked part-time at the family business, A.W. Collins Corporation. She was an avid golfer and a member of the women’s' bowling league. Lucille enjoyed spending time with her family at their summer home on the St. Lawrence River in Morristown.
Following Mr. Collins' death in 1983, Lucille married Robert Loose and had been a resident at the Holiday Park Retirement Community in North Port for the past 26 years. She led aerobics at the park for many years and enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and playing the slot machines at local establishments with her friends.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Robert Loose; her daughter, Sally Hollister; two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her son, Robert W. Collins and his wife, Allyson, of Canton; her brother, Eugene LaRock of Zephyrhills, FL; four grandchildren, Sean Kelly of Atlanta GA, Jodi Brown of Heuvelton, Rebecca Williamson of Bedford MA and Darren Collins of Tyngsboro MA; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
