A Mass of Resurrection for Loretta M. Lazore, 90, of Massena will be held on Friday (March 25, 2011) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Massena with Rev. J. Michael Gaffney presiding.
Friends and family may be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Loretta passed away on March 22, 2011 at Massena Memorial Hospital.
Loretta is survived by a son, Norman and wife Christy of Massena; two daughters in- law, Cheeta Lazore-Dietlein of Brasher Falls and Doreen Kempston of Fulton; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Saucier of Geneva.
She was predeceased by two sons, Nelson in 1968 and James in 1979; also by two grandsons, Brad and Theodore J. "T.J" in 1994.
Loretta was born on November 6, 1920 in St. Raphael, Ontario the daughter of Frank and Philomina (Sauve) Saucier. She married Nelson W. Lazore on September 28, 1940 at Church of Sacred Heart in Massena, with the Rev. Bernard Kellogg presiding. Mr. Lazore predeceased her on October 12, 1986. Loretta was employed at A & P Grocery store as a cashier for 21 years, and later employed at Acme Markets for 14 years, retiring in 1974. In earlier years she was employed as a sales clerk at Fishman’s Department Store.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, AmVets Auxiliary Post #4. Loretta loved to crochet and embroidery. Loretta was a member of the Massena and Hogansburg Senior Citizens.
