CANTON -- Former Northern New York resident Lon Rosenbarker died April 7, 2021, at his home in Green Valley, Arizona.
At his request, no service will be held.
Lon was born December 19th, 1953, in Canton, NY to Elwin & Doris (Santimaw) Rosenbarker.
Lon retired from St. Lawrence University in 2003 as a carpenter.
He then moved to California with his wife, Lori, where together they owned and operated a general contracting business.
He took great pride in his work and never backed down from a challenge.
He always believed if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing well.
He will be remembered for his beautiful woodworking, his sense of humor, his singing and whistling, and many other things that made him unique.
He will be missed by many that called him their friend and by his family that loved him for who he was.
He is survived by his wife, Lori and was a loving father of three daughters, Heather (Travis) Perkins of Canton, Heidi (James) Crandall of Watertown, and Hillary Revet and her fiance, Matthew Tardiff of Colton. He was a proud grandfather of 8 grandkids and 2 great grandsons.
To celebrate his life, we have set up a Memorial Grove in Lon's name through an organization called Trees for a Change.
The trees will be planted in a National Forest that was destroyed by wildfire. Lon's trees will help restore the beauty of the forest and will be a living tribute to him for years to come.
Our family will get a framed certificate with the number of trees and a card with all messages after all the contributions have come in.
We invite friends, family and members of the community to contribute trees to this special grove by visiting this link: http://www.treesforachange.com/custom-grove-of-trees
