CANTON - Funeral services for Lois A. Heagle, 82, of Riverside Drive, are incomplete with the Fox and Murray Funeral Home.
Mrs. Heagle died Monday April 11, 2011, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, R.I.
Surviving are two sons David Heagle and his fiancee Cathy Bagaglia of Providence, R.I., Thomas Heagle and his wife Birry of Mobile, Ala.; two daughters Kathleen Lynch and her husband William of Ogdensburg, Susan Monroe and her companion David Stacy of Canton; sisters Beverly Green of Lisbon, Barbara Aumell of Montreal, Quebec, Joan Howard of Texas, Norma Stiles and her husband Keith of Rensselaer Falls, N.Y.; six grandchildren Cory Monroe, Jaime Pipher, Trisha Gutterson, Alisha (Gutterson) Massaro, Daniel Heagle, Abi Heagle; four great-grandchildren Nicholas Pipher, Noelle Pipher, Tucker Monroe, Ellie Monroe; sister-in-law Gloria Aumell and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lois was predeceased by her brothers Donald and Leon Aumell and a sister Linda Kutka.
Lois was born on March 28, 1929 in Ogdensburg, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Geneva (Denny) Aumell.
She married Edward G. Heagle on Sept. 2, 1948 at Notre Dame Church, which later ended in divorce.
She was a longtime employee with NY Telephone Co. from 1946 - 1980 where she worked in the business office and as a telephone operator until she retired. She then relocated to the Tooley Pond Road in Cranberry Lake and resided there until 2006 when she moved to Canton.
Lois was an early communicant of Notre Dame Church in Ogdensburg and later St. Mary's in Canton.
She enjoyed putting puzzles together, reading, working on jumbles and crossword puzzles, watching loons, hummingbirds and the Adirondack scenery. She was the happiest in the company of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many special friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Notre Dame Church in Ogdensburg, St. Mary's Church in Canton or a charity of ones choice.
