OGDENSBURG – Funeral services for Linda A. Murdock, 70, of the Irish Settlement Road, will be held on Tuesday (Sept. 14, 2010) at 11 a.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Schirmer officiating. Her place of rest will be at Foxwood Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Murdock passed away (Sept. 11, 2010) at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Surviving are her children Kris Murdock & his wife Shelly of Ogdensburg, Kimberly Holmes & her husband Mark of Ogdensburg, Kathy Parish of Ogdensburg, Kelley Tiernan & her husband Jay of Waddington and Kara Dutch & her husband Peter of Ogdensburg; a brother Les Armstrong & his wife Lois of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Kaycee, Ellie, Nikki, Konnor, Jordan, Macy, Annalese, Noelle, Kellsie, Chloe, Laney, Nevin, Courtney & Josh; aunts Erma McMillan of Watertown, Verna Hutchinson & her husband Howard of Heuvelton, Sylvia Wilson of Lisbon; an uncle William Duvall of Heuvelton and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents Barton & Inda Armstrong; an aunt Eva Duvall, uncles Frank Wilson and Thomas McMillan and her father & mother-in-law, Bob & Beulah Murdock.
Linda was born on Oct. 30, 1939 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Barton & Inda (Wilson) Armstrong.
She graduated from Heuvelton Rural Schools in 1957, and continued her education at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center School of Nursing where she obtained her registered nursing degree, and continued to work until 1995 when she retired.
She married Hubert P. Murdock on Sept. 14, 1963, although the couple’s marriage ended in divorce, they remained good friends throughout life.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and enjoyed making birthday cakes, cooking, baking, canning, gardening, sewing, Friday night fish fries, feeding the ducks at camp and spending time with her family.
Memorial contributions have been requested to the Heuvelton Volunteer Fire and Rescue or Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
