Graveside services for 83 year old Lillian L. Hoyt, Mayfield Drive, Potsdam, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Morley Cemetery with Rev. Lee Sweeney, pastor of the Knapps Station Community Church presiding. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton. Mrs. Hoyt passed away Saturday afternoon at her home.
Lillian is survived by her four sons, Robert and Judith of Pierrepont, William and Glenda of Pierrepont, Harold Hoyt Jr of Russell, Peter and Cheryl of Pierrepont; two daughters, Mrs. Stephen Annette Green of Parishville and Sally Ann Burwell of Morley. She has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and is survived also by her three sisters, Rose Soulia, Dekalb, Beatrice Youngs in Virginia and Emma Gagnon in Missouri. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Betty Hoyt; her son-in-law, Terrence Burwell; her brothers, William, Francis, Frederick (Bud), Weldon, Lindon and Kit and her sisters Mary Kelley, Martha Lamica and Helen Hoyt Lamica.
She was born in DePeyster on September 23, 1926 to William and Rose Ritcher Kelley. A marriage to Harold Hoyt Sr. on December 8, 1943 ended in divorce.
She worked as a nurses aid for Barlow’s and then Moongate Nursing Home in Canton and also at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena. She lastly worked at St. Lawrence University as a cleaner.
She loved spending time outside and spending time with her family. She enjoyed bird watching and reading.
