Lemuel Albert Typhair, 69, of El Paso, Texas, formerly of DeKalb Junction, died February 13, 2012. The funeral is February 21, 2012 with burial in the Fort Bliss VA cemetery.

He was born April 17, 1942 in Star Lake, to Lemuel M. and Irene C. [Denecia] Typhair.

He grew up in Dekalb Junction, graduating from Hermon-DeKalb Central School in 1961. Shortly afterwards, he entered the U.S. Army. Upon completion of basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, he was stationed at Fort Bliss, El Paso, until his discharge.

In 1963, Lemuel was united in marriage to Silvia Garcia. They had three girls, Mary, Margarita, and Marion, followed by two sons, Mario and Lemuel.

After this marriage ended, he was united in marriage to Elisa Vasquez in 1981. They adopted Yahaira Typhair and he had two step-children, Mayanin and John, from Elisa's previous marriage.

Lemuel had eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Lemuel is also survived by two brothers, James Typhair of Gouverneur and William [Martha] Typhair of DeKalb Junction; five sisters, Marie [Thomas] McCoy of Rome, Joan Shampine of Roanoke, Va., Doris [Ronnie] Fuller of Pinehurst, Texas, Mona Taylor of Ogdensburg, and Carol Durham of Edwards.

He was predeceased by his mother and father.
