Funeral mass for Laura M. Anson Greenwood, 84, formerly of Russell and Canton, will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Church in Canton with Rev. Douglas J. Lucia, celebrating. Laura passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Thomas Bassett in Theresa, where she has resided for the last three years.

Laura was one of 15 children of the late Frederick and Electa (Planty) Santimaw. She married Albert A. Anson June 30, 1944 in the town of Edwards, he predeceased her. They had 9 children. Laura retired from Canton ATC and later from the office of the aging at the age of 75. Laura was also married to the late Gerald Greenwood.

Laura is survived by seven children, Alice (Darren) Greenwood of Canton, Mary (Dennis) Griffin of Russell, Goldie (Richard) Waldo of Churchville, Laura (Lee) Lamere of Russell, Albert (April) Anson of Canton, Delbert (Ramona) Anson of Madrid and Lisa (Thomas) Bassett of Theresa; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and by a sister Freida Lovely and her long-time companion Bud Tupper.

She was predeceased by two sons, Phillip and Fredrick Anson; and four grandchildren and by a great-grandson.
