L. Charles Lauber, 90, Massena

Memorial services for L. Charles Lauber, 90, of Randall Drive, Massena, will be held at a later date.

At Charles request, his body was donated to Burlington Medical Center for research.

Charles passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Massena Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011.

Surviving Charles is his wife Helen, of nearly 70 years, a son William of Canton, a daughter Mrs. Scott (Cheryl) Sharp of Bonner's Ferry, Idahoe; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Charles was born February 25, 1920 in Massena the son of Edward and Helen (Ashley) Lauber.

Following his schooling at Massena High School, he served in the US Navy during WWII.

Charles married Helen Carruthers on April 23, 1941 at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Kennedy presiding.

He was employed at Alcoa as a Millwright retiring in 1982.

He was a member of the 25 Year Club at Alcoa. He was a member of the American Legion Post #79 and a long time member of the Massena B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1702.
