Mr. Kenneth R. Disotell, 74, of 321 County Route 46, passed away Tuesday morning, December 21, 2010, at his home. He had been in failing health since July.

Kenneth was born September 10, 1936 in Massena, the son of Frank and Evelyn Fetterly Disotell. He graduated from Massena High School and attended art school in Cornwall. He served in the US Navy, having been stationed in Norfolk, VA.

Kenny was a self-employed painter, once working for Phil Kennedy as a mechanic assistant. As an artist, he sold his paintings a many local craft show and in Montreal. He was the former president of the Massena Artist Association. He enjoyed reading many, many art books. He also enjoyed the camaraderie at the Via Main Restaurant.

He is survived two sisters, Margaret Disotell and Mildred Swinyer, both of Massena; several nieces and nephews, including Bonnie Disotell of Massena; and a great nephew, Jason Martin of North Bangor.

He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Disotell on June 10, 2001; and a sister, Veronica Disotell on July 8, 2002.

There will be no services. Following cremation, interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Area 2, Massena. Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
