Kenneth Paul Reynolds, 59, Gouverneur

Kenneth Paul Reynolds, age 59, of Gouverneur, passed away on May 6, 2011 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse after a long time battle with leukemia. At the time of his death Kenny was surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.

Calling hours will be on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Hailesboro Cemetery.

Kenneth was born on May 24, 1951 in Gouverneur to Clair W. and Ruth E. (House) Reynolds. He attended Gouverneur Schools, and upon graduation from high school he went to work at St. Joe’s Mineral, where he was employed for 18 years. He then went to work for the Department of Public Works for the Village of Gouverneur, where he was employed for 18 years, retiring in August of 2004. He married Christine H. Matice on July 15, 1972 at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church.

Kenny enjoyed many things in life, including music. He performed for many years with his brother Joey, nephews Joe Jr. and Tommy, the Dashnaw boys, and friends Brad Charlton, Cindy and Corky Curcuruto and Bill Farr, singing lead and playing guitar. He also enjoyed camping with his family and friends, Debbie and Duck, visiting the Gouverneur Fair, and spending time with his grandchildren. In fact, one of Kenny’s favorite things to do was give his grandchildren moped rides.

Surviving is his wife, Christine; two daughters and their husbands, Tara and Chad Burr and Jennifer and Jeremy Link; four grandchildren, Paige Burr, Jacob, Jaret and Jaylee Link all of Gouverneur; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles “Chuck” and Bethany and Joel “Joey” and Norma Reynolds of Gouverneur; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Gloria Youngs and Algie of Edwards, Nora Aldridge of Edwards and Clarine and Gaylord Kerr of Oswegatchie; a brother-in-law, James Hubbard of Fine; and several nieces and nephew and special friends.

Kenneth is predeceased by his parents Clair and Ruth; his brothers, Delbert and Jackie Reynolds; sister, Carolyn Hubbard; and brother-in-law, Arnold Aldridge Sr.
