Kenneth L. Rotach, Sr., 76, North Lawrence, passed away peacefully Friday morning at his home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Kenneth was born on November 27, 1937 in Herkimer, son of the late Albert and Bertha (Mann) Rotach. He attended Poland Central School.
On August 6, 1960, he was married to the love of his life, Joyce I. Forbes in Cold Brook by Rev. Ivan Greenfield. Together they shared a commitment of 53 years of a blessed union.
Ken worked as a cutter for Massena Metals until his retirement.
He enjoyed being outdoors; fishing, hunting, riding the 4-wheeler and gardening. He treasured his family, sharing a loving and compassionate heart with them all.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; their children, Teresa Rotach of North Lawrence, Kathy Currie and Bonnie Graves of Herkimer, Tina Bruette and Jim Ravinski of Oneida, Kenneth and Brandi Rotach, Jr. of Ft. Covington, Audra Sebring and Jim Conway of Brushton, Betsy and Brad Blanchard of Perry, and Diana and David Crump of Nicholville; 16 grandchildren, David Currie, Jr., Courtney Currie, Jason Bruette, Sarah Ashley, Cody Rotach, Brittany Rotach, Matthew Rotach, Hunter Newfang, Kyle Newfang, Kyle Taylor, Joshua Sebring, Jakob Sebring, Ashly Blanchard, Ian Blanchard, Logan Crump and Kristan Crump; gour great-grandchildren, Jayden Ashley, Damien Rotach, Brayden Ashley and Aislin Rotach; siblings Barbara and Stewart Hughes of Iowa, Duane and Joan Rotach of Barneveld, Beatrice Golden of Barneveld, Susan and George Potter of Rome, Judith Streeter of Rome, Veronica and David Willey of NH and Michael and Karen Rotach of Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one granddaughter, Karen Bruette, two brothers, Albert and Allen, and one sister, Thaddeus.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop, followed by Ken's funeral service and celebration of life at 7 p.m.
