Kenneth E. Crandall, 85, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 12th at 1:00 p.m. at East Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur with Rev. Beth Benham, pastor of the Gouverneur United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Kenneth was born February 5, 1928 in Gouverneur, the son of Clarence and Sybil Cummings Crandall. He grew up in Gouverneur where he attended school before serving in the United States Air Force. Kenneth married Jean E. Mashaw on March 3, 1949.
Ken had worked on the railroad and at the papermill before joining Union Local #322. He had been a past member of Panther Mountain Hunting Club near Harrisville and enjoyed hunting, fishing, flowers, and working in the garden.
Ken is survived by his son, Kenneth E. Crandall Jr. of Gouverneur; a brother-in-law, Clarence "Porky" Mashaw; four sisters-in-law, Ruth Noble, Betty Mashaw, Sally Watson, and Mary Lou Belmore; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jean who passed away September 16, 2009. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Don Rodan and Clarence Crandall Jr.; and his sister, Wilma Hogue.
