Kathryn J. Hamilton, 52, of Hannawa Falls, died, August 19 2011, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction, is in care of arrangements. Calling hours will be Sunday, August 21, from 2 -4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, August 22, at 11 am, at St. Henry’s Church, with Father Douglas Lucia officiating. Burial will follow in St. Henry’s Cemetery, DeKalb Junction.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Amanda Hamilton, DeKalb Junction; her parents, Kenneth and Lois Alguire, DeKalb Junction; sisters Ann (Brian) White, Russell, Lorie (David) Gladle, Edwards; her companion, Danny Collins, Hannawa Falls; his children, Christopher Collins, Laura Montenegro and Patrick Collins; his grandchildren, Haley and Matthew Montenegro; and several nieces and nephews.
Kathy was born in Gouverneur, November 9, 1958. She married Asa Hamilton, November 20, 1982 The marriage ended in divorce.
She was a well-seasoned employee for Maplewood Campus, United Helpers, for over 30 years.
Kathy was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Colton and the Sno-Skippers Snowmobile Club, Colton, a former member of the DeKalb Junction Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a Girl Scout leader and a Hermon DeKalb Central School Board member. She was also a Eucharistic minister.
She loved spending time with her family, quilting, baking, sewing, and fishing. Contributions can be made to the Activities Department or Canton Day Care Center at Maplewood Campus, Canton.
