NORTH LAWRENCE - Kathleen O. Hulse age 88 passed away at her home Saturday (Dec. 10, 2022) with her family at her side. A private graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.
Kathleen was born August 14, 1934, in Massena, the daughter to John and Emma Mary (MacMillan) O’Connell. She graduated from Massena Central High School in 1952. On December 27, 1952, Kathleen united into marriage with Frederick L. Hulse. He predeceased her on December 5, 2015. From 1952-1955 Kathleen worked at ALCOA in the print shop, and from 1963-1995 she was employed at Massena Central School system as a secretary at the Junior High.
At one time Kathleen enjoyed camping, going Snowmobiling, crocheting, and trying her luck at the casino.
Treasured memories will be forever in the hearts of her children, Patricia (William) Sauve of Brasher Falls, Frederick James (Barbara) Hulse of Havelock, North Carolina, Barbara E. (William A.) Sekera of Palm Bay, Florida, David Charles (Gena) of Gloversville, NY, and LeRoy (Anna) Hulse of Winthrop. Her grandchildren, Kathleen Sauve, Sara Sauve, Jesse Hulse, Richard Hulse, Edward Pitts, Michael (Sarah) Sekera, Anne Louise Hulse, LeAnn (Tim) Allan, and Emily (Josh) LaDue also survive her. Her family chain grew with seven great-grandchildren, Piper Goeke, Jeremy Brown, Jr, Zoey Alexis Pitts, Gwendolyn, Elise Doyle, Maverick Xander, Micah Avery, and Maelena Willow.
Her siblings, David (Patsy Kay) O’Connell of Massena, Muriel MacDonald of Florida, Margaret Flack of Lisbon, Susan Clarke of Winthrop along with many nieces, nephews and cousins survive her.
Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by three brothers Gerry (Rosie) O’Connell of Florida, Linus J. O’Connell, and Hubert T. O’Connell.
