A Mass of Resurrection for Kathi A. Seguin Lucas, 57 of Massena, will be held on Monday, November 28, at 12 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Massena. Friends and family may be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Phillips Memorial Home, in Massena. Interment will be in St. John's the Baptist Cemetery in Madrid. Kathi passed away on November 22, at Massena Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Kathi is survived by a daughter and son in-law, Rachel and Terry Favreau, two grandchildren, Ashley and Hunter; a sister and four brothers, Julie and Steve Talbot of Massena, Kenneth and Tina Seguin of Raymondville, David and Sandy Seguin of Massena, and Lloyd and MaryAnn Seguin of Chase Mills, Thomas and Elizabeth of Seguin of Massena. She is also survived by her mother in-law Mildred Lucas of Madrid, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, two infant children, and her father in-law Donald J. Lucas.
Kathi was born on November 6, 1954, in Massena the daughter of Norman and Josephine (Vierno) Seguin. She graduated from Holy Family High School in 1972, and attended Mater Dei College. A marriage to Donald Lucas ended in divorce. She and her husband Don were the co-founders of Muskie Magic Charter, Inc. in Massena. Kathi was employed in secretarial positions in the Massena area. At the time of Kathi's death she was employed at St. Lawrence County NYSARC in Canton as a Data Entry Clerk.
Kathi will be remembered for inspirational enthusiasm and compassion for others. Her grandchildren, Ashley and Hunter were the love of her life, as well as all her nieces and nephews. Kathi was well known for writing poetry, and baking for her family. She was a life long communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Kathi's family wish to acknowledge the Burlington Medical Center ICU and Hospice and Palliative Care for their competent caring of their mother, grandmother and sister.
