Mrs. June W. Paige, age 87, of Potsdam, passed away on Saturday, January 08, 2011 at her son William’s residence in the town of Potsdam. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam. Condolences online can be sent at www.garnerfh.com. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 12th at 3 p.m. at the Garner Funeral Home with Morris LaFaver Lay Leader officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at the Evergreen Cemetery in Canton. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Meredith Fiacco Scholarship Fund c/o Norwood Norfolk Central School.
June is survived by her sons, Robert (Linda) Paige of Swanton, Vermont, Howard R. of Georgetown, Georgia and William (Bonnie) of Potsdam; grandchildren John F. Paige, Amy L. Paige, Nicole and Chris Brooks, and Brian C. Paige and fiancé Suzanne Fiacco; great grandchildren Hannah and Stephanie Paige and Paige and Logan Brooks; a brother, Robert Wilson; and a sister, Betty Bohan.
She was predeceased by a brother, Harold C. Wilson.
June was born on February 5, 1923 in Potsdam, to Clarence Wilson and Florence Eldridge. She was a 1939 graduate of Potsdam High School. In 1940 she was married to Howard R. Paige. The marriage ended in divorce. During her career she hauled milk for the farmers in Canton, worked for the Sugar Bowl Restaurant in Canton, she worked at the Movie Theatre in Canton, the Town House Restaurant, Montgomery Wards, J.C. Penny’s, Chicago Markets, Mace Motors, the Cascade Restaurant and for St. Lawrence County as a switchboard operator where she was just recognized for currently having over 27 years of service.
