Funeral Services for June Tischler, 70 , of Richards Street Massena will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena with Rev. J. Michael Gaffney officiating. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
After a long struggle with cancer June died on Wednesday, September 21. Surviving her are a son, Louis and companion Gary Provencher of Massena; a sister, Lucille Burgoyne of Massena; a brother, Raymond Leduc of Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased two sisters, Regina Clark and Jeanine Barbeau; along with a brother, Ivan Leduc.
June was born June 2, 1941 the daughter of Joseph and Clara Desgagne Leduc. She graduated from St. Mary's High School, Massena. June married Louis L. Tischler May 5,1960 in Norfolk. Louis died April 1, 1999.
June was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, American Legion Auxillary Post 79 of Massena, and Massena Senior Citizen Club.
She enjoyed collecting lighthouses, traveling, playing slot machines online, bird watching, photography, visiting and cooking for friends and family, weekly excursions with Gary, and with her sister Lucille and niece Linda Burgoyne Runions, going out to eat, gardening, cllecting old and rare currency, Thomas Kinkade art, reading - especially Patricia Cornwell, shopping especially QVC and Pampered Chef.
June was a very stoic, strong, compassionate and giving woman, enjoying every minute of life and lived it to the fullest by enjoying the simple things life offered. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made to www.phillipsmemorial.com.
