John F. Klock of Gouverneur, New York passed away on May 21, 2011 at the age of 89. John was born in Antwerp, New York on February 25, 1922. He was the only son of Edna Mae Beadle Klock and Frederick Klock.
He graduated from Antwerp High School in the Class of l940. He was employed by Borden at the Antwerp plant. He resided all of his life in and around Gouverneur and Sylvia Lake. He met his wife, Patricia Chateau, at the Sylvia Lake Skating rink. They were married on July 4, 1943 in Richville. Thereafter, he was employed by Fitzgerald Brothers as a bus driver, driving routes in Northern New York and then worked for Paul Capellino as a truck driver. For a period of twenty years, he drove truck for Gouverneur Trucking. Until his retirement, he owned and operated John F. Klock Trucking.
In addition to his loving wife, Patricia, of Gouverneur, he is survived by his son, John H. Klock and his wife, Connie, of Scotch Plains, N.J; his grandson, Thomas J. Klock and his wife, Becky Klock and their daughter; his great granddaughter, Sofia Klock; his granddaughter, Lt. Jacqueline Klock Hogan, USN, and her husband, Lt. Jeffrey Hogan, USN, who currently reside in Guam; his niece, Darya Cummings; his grand nieces, Dianne Girard and her husband Jim Girard, Missy Steele and her husband Ryan; and his grandnephew, David Cummings, all of Gouverneur. He will live in the hearts of his family upon whom he left an indelible mark of his love, generosity, and compassion.
Mr. Klock was a member of the Gouverneur Country Club, a charter member of the Gouverneur Elks Club, and active in various bowling leagues. He was a communicant of St. James Church and member of the Holy Name Society. He was active in the Sylvia Lake Association. A problem solver, he worked in wood and metal and invented many labor saving devices.
A funeral mass is planned for July 2, 2011 at St. James Church in Gouverneur. Arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
