Funeral services for Jeffery W. Garrison, age 62, of the English Settlement Road, Ogdensburg, will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Frary Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Morristown. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Frary Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Garrison passed away on September 19, 2011 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
Mr. Garrison is survived by his wife, Linda; one son, Spencer Garrison and his wife Peggy of Ogdensburg; three daughters, Amy Adams and her husband Doug of Morristown, Angie Anderson and her husband Steve of Hannawa Falls and Kara Warren and her husband Keith of Lisbon; one sister, Debbie Downing and her husband David of Macomb; eight grandchildren, Jake and Carly Garrison, Jeffery and Luke King, Ashley and Kyle Anderson and Leah and Caleb Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Steve, Gary and Roger; and one sister, Judy O’Neil.
Mr. Garrison was born on May 2, 1949 in Syracuse, the son of Ralph and Eleanor (Woodcock) Garrison. He attended Morristown Central School and graduated from Canton High School. He served in the Army Reserves. He married Linda James on August 21, 1986 in Waddington. Mr. Garrison first worked for Sperling Furniture as a Carpet Layer. He later worked for Clickner’s Furniture until it closed. In 1986 he opened up Garrison’s Carpet Center.
Mr. Garrison was an exempt member of the Morristown Fire Department, where he served as Fire Chief. Mr. Garrison enjoyed hunting, boating, horseshoes and spending his time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid history buff.
