A Mass of Resurrection for Jeannette B. Rochefort, 96, formerly of Laurel Terrace, Massena will be held Wednesday 12 noon at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev, Donald J, Manfred presiding. Interment will be in Salaberry Cemetery, Valleyfield,Que.
Friends and family may be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena, Memorials to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
Mrs. Rochefort died Saturday evening (July 10, 2010) surrounded by her family. She had been a resident at the St. Regis Nursing Home for the past year. She had formerly lived at Laurel Terrace and prior to that resided on the Trippany Rd. Massena for many years.
Surviving Jeannette B. Rochefort are two daughters and nine sons, Lilianne LeBlanc, Massena, Lorraine Rochefort and companion Ron Enslow, Raymondville, Pierre and Dacia, Robert and Charlene, Jacque "Jack" and Veronica, John and Mary, Andre and Anoush, Gaetan all of Massena, George of Lowville, Richard and Jennifer of Falls Church, VA and Raymond and Irene of Arlington,VA; and 24 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren .
Mrs. Rochefort was predeceased by a grandson, Adam McDonald; a granddaughter, Andrea; and a great grandson, Robert.
Mrs. Rochefort was born June 5, 1914 in Montreal, Quebec the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Renault) Rivest. She married Paul E. Rochefort December 6, 1937 in Cathedral, St. Cecil, Quebec. Mr. Rochefort died October 16, 1984. Mrs. Rochefort enjoyed cooking for and being with her beloved family.
