Jared Michael Maurer, age 9, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Jared is the son of Michael and Rebekah Scott Maurer and was born December 25, 2000 in Potsdam.

Jared was homeschooled and enjoyed fishing, riding four-wheelers, horses, and just liked being outdoors.

Jared is survived by his parents, Michael and Rebekah; two brothers, Austin and Michael Jr.; a sister, Lauren; his maternal grandparents, H. William Scott of DeKalb and Jo Anne Scott of DeKalb; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Charles Maurer.

Calling hours will be today, Friday, July 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur and burial will be at the convenience of the family. We have arranged to have a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Henry's in DeKalb Junction on Saturday July 10th and burial to follow at the Maurer residence, 3106 county Route 17 DeKalb Junction.
