James F. “Jim” Prashaw, 51, 325 Brouse Road, Massena, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday morning, March 17, at Fletcher-Allen Medical Center, where he had been admitted on Wednesday.
Jim was born November 3, 1959 in Massena, the son of Franklin J. and Carmen Brabant Prashaw. He graduated from Massena Central School in 1977. On June 28, 1980, he married Leone E. McNulty at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Leo Wiley, officiating.
Jim was a partner in the family business, F.J. Prashaw and Son Plumbing for many years. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus #1141, Massena. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who also enjoyed four-wheeling and spending time with the two “girls” in his life, his granddaughter, Hannah and his dog, Bella.
He is survived by his wife, Leone; his two children, Stacey Guay and her husband, Christian of Massena, and Brad Prashaw of Albany; and his granddaughter, Hannah Guay. He is also survived by his father, Frank; three sisters, Susan and Jerry Miller of Oswego, Cynthia Delisle of Brasher Falls, and Kathy and Dan Pitts of Maine; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Carmen of April 4, 1998.
There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. J. Michael Gaffney, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Norwood. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider Trinity Catholic School Endowment Fund or Norfolk Rescue Squad.
