James P. Garlough, age 50, died July 20, 2010 in Mayo, Florida in a car accident. He was born in Potsdam, February 1, 1960 to James E. and Virginia (Rood) Garlough. He graduated from Parishville- Hopkinton Central School in 1978.
He worked in the dairy farm business all his life and was employed at Barrington Dairy, Mayo, Florida as a Herd Health Manager at the time of his death. He was dedicated and highly regarded in his field. He was recognized for his work in University studies in Herd Health Management.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing, gardening and adored his dog Chip. He was a member of the Mayo Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father, James E. Garlough, Potsdam; six sisters, Glenda LaWall (Randall) of North Lawrence, Deborah Duffy (John) of Connecticut, Lesa Wilson (Michael) of North Carolina, Jean Usher (Daniel) of Balston Spa, Jan Delosh of Syracuse, and Kay Richards (James) of Lisbon; one brother, Eldon Garlough of Alaska; and many nieces and nephews.
His mother, Virginia Garlough died in 1989.
Two marriages ended in divorce. Pamela Shoen and Stephanie Lewis. He remained best friends with Stephanie.
Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home on Monday, August 2nd from 2-6 p.m. with a memorial service with Pastor Leon Sweeney immediately following. A private burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Parishville.
