Jacob R. Snyder, age 20, of Richville, died on August 2, 2010 following an accident on his dirt bike at home.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. His funeral mass will be on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Rocker officiating. There will be a luncheon at the family’s home immediately following the service.
Jacob was born on May 14, 1990 in Lowville, to James and Rae (Perkins) Snyder. He was raised by his father and enjoyed helping work on the family farm. Jacob attended the Hermon-Dekalb Central School and received his G.E.D.
Jacob was a very active person. He loved fishing and riding his ATV’s, motorcycles, and snowmobiles. Jacob had a very good heart.
His survivors include his father, James Snyder of Richville; his paternal grandparents, Ann Meek of Florida and Gordon Snyder of Georgia; his maternal grandparents, Diane and Terry Perkins of Lowville; his step brothers, Ben and Robert; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Donations made in memory of Jacob can be made to the Dekalb and Richville Volunteer Rescue Squads.
