Funeral services for Hope Martin, age 57, of 74 Monkey Hill Road, Ogdensburg, will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Notre Dame Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. F. James Shurtleff. Mrs. Martin passed away on December 10, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, Robert of Ogdensburg; a daughter, Linda L’Orange and her husband Ronald Ratcliffe of Ottawa; two sons, Patrick L’Orange and his wife Gladis of Ottawa and Jean Paul L’Orange; her mother, Lillian Stevenson of Bridgeport; two step children, Robert Martin and Michelle Martin, both of FL; two brothers, Donald Stevenson and his wife Cheryl of Ohio and Tom Stevenson and his wife Betty of South Carolina; three sisters, Beatrice Perry and her husband William of Rensselaer Falls, Rita Yakawiak and her husband Richard of Bridgeport and Dale Jean Decker and her husband Bob of Old Forge; three grandchildren, Kaylee, Julia and Aaliyah; and six step grandchildren, Robert III, Desire, Sophia, Taylor, Brandon and Jessica.
Mrs. Martin was born on January 17, 1954 in Syracuse, the daughter of Donald Stevenson and Lillian Hart. She graduated from East Syracuse Minoa High School in 1972. She married Robert Martin on November 26, 1988 in Syracuse. She first worked for Compass and later worked at BOCES and was a school bus driver. She then worked for CDP and bartended at the Bill & Bee’s Bar and the Moose Lodge. She later worked as an Aide for Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Moose Lodge and was once active in figure skating. Mrs. Martin enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and volunteering.
