Hilda K. Maine, 46, formerly of Potsdam and Parishville, died Monday at Crown Center for Nursing & Rehab in Cortland after a short battle with cancer.

Born on February 19, 1965, in Potsdam, the daughter of Elgin and Arleta Stoddard Maine, she attended Parishville-Hopkinton School.

Surviving beside her mother are a brother, Jonathan Verrill of Canton; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Hyla M. and Robert Woodruff and Sara E. Elliot all of Potsdam, Lola Maine of Colton, and Ellen and John Flowers of West Gardner, Maine; seven nieces and nephews; seven great nieces and nephews and several cousins.

There will be no services. Burial will be in the spring in Riverview Cemetery, town of Pierrepont. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O.B. 7, East Syracuse, N.Y 13057.

Arrangements are being handled by Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home, 7191 East Genesee St., Fayetteville.
