Mr. Henry Sidney (Red) Mayer, formerly of Massena, passed away on Friday, May 6, at the Hawthorne Village in Ocala, Florida.

Henry, known as “Red or Hank” by his friends and family, was born in Massena on March 31, 1932, the son of John and Ellen Mayer. He enlisted in the Army and served his country in the Korean War. Henry was a Registered Electrical Contractor and worked in South Florida.

He is survived by two daughters, Valari Mayer Bergren of North Augusta, SC, and Ellen Mayer, TN; and three sons, Kevin Mayer, Washington, NC, Danny Mayer, Ocala, FL and Mike Mayer, Lawrenceville, GA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; a niece, Linda Mayer Dunkelberg; and nephew, Fred Mayer.

Hank was predeceased by his brother John Mayer of Massena. A private memorial service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
