Helen T. (Lauzon) Burl, age 64, of 524 County Route 43, Fort Covington, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Franklin County Nursing Home where she had been a patient since 2000. Helen was born on June 10, 1946 in Fort Covington, the daughter of the late Joseph and Hazel Martin Lauzon. She graduated from Salmon River Central School in 1964. She was united in marriage to Philip Burl on November 26, 1964 at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Covington with Rev. Robillard officiating.
Helen enjoyed cooking, and going to garage sales, but most importantly she cherished the time she spent with her family and grandchildren. Helen will always be remembered as a generous lady, always assisting and helping other people in their time of need.
Besides her husband Phil, Helen is survived by her three sons, Tony Burl and companion Brenda Knox of Moira, NY, Tracy Burl and Companion Heather Decker of Chateaugay, and Tom and Rene Burl of Plattsburgh; grandchildren Devon, Tera, Jessica and Danny Burl; her siblings, Donald and Martha Lauzon of North Tonawanda, Philip and Sylvia Lauzon of Fort Covington, Joseph Lauzon and Eloise Massaro of Fort Covington, Margaret of Greenfield, ME, Robert and Anne Lauzon of St. Regis Falls, Janet and John Malark of Burke, Carl and Mona Lauzon of Fort Covington, Harold and Emily Lauzon of Bombay, Michael and Kathleen of Fort Covington, Paul and Darlene Lauzon of Fort Covington, Rita Lauzon and Jim Yeddo of Chateaugay, Ann Lauzon of Schenectady, Trudy Lauzon and Sandra Lauzon both of Fort Covington and Alfred Almond of Fort Covington; her brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law, Charles Barnes of Hogansburg, David and Sharon Burl of Winthrop, and Marilyn and Richard Legacy of Malone; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was predeceased by her sister, Theresa Almond; and brothers, Gerald, Ronald, and Roger Lauzon.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass for Helen on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Fort Covington, with Rev. Martin Cline and Rev. Kris Lauzon officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Fort Covington Senior Citizens or the Fort Covington Fire and Rescue Dept. in Helen’s memory. Arrangements are under the direction of the Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
