Lisbon- Helen Lena Todd, 90, passed away peacefully Friday, March 7, 2014 after a two day stay at Claxton Hepburn. She was a resident of United Helpers RiverLedge and formerly of the Fulton Rd. in Lisbon. Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, March 12, 2013 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Madrid. Following calling hours will be a funeral service with Rev. James Seymour officiating.
Mrs. Todd was born on March 10, 1923 in Utica, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Finen. Helen would have been 91 on Monday March 10. Before her marriage she worked at the Rome Air Depot assembling and packing airplane parts. She married Glen Todd on April 1, 1943 at St. Peters Church in Utica. Helen was a house wife and helped her husband around the farm while raising 11 foster children as well as her own.
Helen was a very devoted Catholic and before entering the nursing home attended St. Phillips and James Church in Lisbon and later St. Raphael’s in Heuvelton with her daughter. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, flower gardening and playing bingo at RiverLedge. Helen looked forward to her almost daily visits from her children who she loved spending time with.
At the nursing home she enjoyed receiving communion and going to weekly rosary.
Helen is survived by her three children; a daughter, Linda and Gary Fenlong of Heuvelton; sons, Travis and Robin Todd of Lisbon; seven grandchildren, Renee and Shawn Typhair of Harisville, Geoffrey Fenlong of Memphis, TN, Jamison Fenlong of Heuvelton, Joseph, Carrie and Michael Todd of Lisbon, Tonya and Bruce Parmeter also of Lisbon; great-grandchildren, Chasity and Bryce Parmeter, Walker and Rylee Typhair, Cameron, Hailey, Caleb, Jacob and Katie Todd; sister-in-laws, June Hicks, Marie Finen and Bina Todd; many nieces and nephews and also a special foster daughter, Donna (Richard) Hendricks and their daughter Stephanie. She was predeceased by her husband Glen in 1989; a son, Ronnie Todd; a sister, Francis Van Court; a brother, Tom Finen; brother-in-laws, Raymond Van Court, Donald Hicks , John and Lloyd Todd; sister-in-laws, Ethel Todd, Erma Godfrey and Shirley Chapman.
