Harriet E. Kentner, 85, Lisbon

Funeral services for Harriet E. Kentner, State Highway 37, Lisbon, will be held on Monday June 28, at 11 a.m. at Waddington United Methodist Church with Martha Helmer, lay pastor presiding. Friends and family may be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home in Waddington. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Waddington. Harriet passed away on June 24, at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg.

Harriet is survived by her husband, R. Clifford, Lisbon; two daughters Janice Haywood of Richmond, Va, and Doreen and husband James Dineen of Freeville; a son, Ray Kenneth and companion Glenda Terrance of Waddington; six grandchildren, Pierce and Karen Haywood of Va, Sean and Melanie Dineen of MA, Kyle and Karrie Dineen of VA, Brandy and Shannon Kentner both of Waddington, and P. J. Terrance of Hogansburg; six great-grandchildren; a half brother, Jay Elliot of Buffalo; two half sisters, Vivian Brummer of Rochester, and Helen Nebel of Virginia Beach; A stepsister, Marcella Hawkins of Cato; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia K. Kentner; a sister, Dorothy Clark, a stepsister, Evelyn Herman; and a stepbrother, Robert Elliot.

She was born January 4, 1925, in Ledyard, the daughter of Charles and Esther (Miner) Veley. She graduated from high school and then graduated with a two-year degree from ATI, now known as ATC.

She married R. Clifford on July 7, 1944 at Sparta, WI. She retired from Madrid-Waddington School district as a Cafeteria Manager.

She was a member of the Waddington United Methodist Church, AARP and treasurer of Local Chapter, Waddington Sewing Circle, Lisbon 89'er's Senior Citizen, Seaway Valley Senior Citizens, Waddington. Harriet loved to read and travel.
