Graveside services for Harold W. Mousseau, 76, of Massena will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. There will be no public calling hours. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Harold passed away on March 27, 2011 at Massena Memorial Hospital.
Harold is survived by his wife, Frances; a sister, Linda Mary Mousseau of Massena; a nephew, Joseph Gabri of Massena; and two aunts, two uncles, and several cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Ann Mousseau.
Harold was born on August 26, 1934 in Massena the son of Harold W. and Lenore (LaRose) Mousseau. He graduated from Massena High School in 1952. He entered the U.S Army in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1957. He married Frances Vari on October 18, 1958 at St. Mary’s Church in Massena. He worked for Alcoa until 1958, then worked on the construction of the Seaway and started at the Chevrolet Plant and retired as a tool and dye maker in March 1990.
Harold was a member of the American Legion, Massena and Akwesasne Senior Citizens. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was grand knight. He served as Santa Claus in the ARC Program and other community activities. He was co-chairman of the Jerry Lewis Telethon. He hosted bus tours to Atlantic City. He was an avid sports fan, bingo player and fisherman. Harold enjoyed socializing with friends at card parties. He also enjoyed traveling.
