Funeral services for 85 year old Harold M. Wagstaff, 5 Elm Circle, Norfolk, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding. A spring burial will be held in Visitation Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Monday from 3-6 p.m.
Mr. Wagstaff is survived by his wife, Marjorie, Massena; his brothers, Glendon and Debbie, Massena, Henry and Betty, Jackson, PA and Gary and Debbie, Virginia; his sisters-in-law, Rose Wagstaff, Norfolk, Daisy Wagstaff, Potsdam and Lorraine Wagstaff, Gouverneur; his care taker and nephew, Tony Bushey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his brothers, William, Leland, Robert, Vincent and Kenneth; and his sister, Wilma Wagstaff.
He was born in Louisville on October 7, 1925 to the late Henry and Mable White Wagstaff. He married Marjorie Monica on January 31, 1957. He worked as an attendant at the State Hospital in Wingdale, and later at Johnson City. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was wounded in Belgium. He was considered a sharpshooter and received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star.
He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and enjoyed NASCAR and woodworking. Memorial Donations can be made to the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk or to the Massena Amvets.
