Gloria Landers, 85, formerly of Gouverneur, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in Georgia.
Calling hours are Saturday, March 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur. A funeral mass will follow at 1:30 pm at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Rocker officiating. A spring burial will be held in North Watertown Cemetery.
Gloria was born September 27, 1928 in Watertown, the daughter of Albert Leon and Rosia DeCastro Gleason. She graduated from Watertown High School and attended nursing school. Gloria worked as an operator and a supervisor for New York Telephone Company and as a nurse at the House of the Good Samaritan in Watertown.
Gloria married Robert G. Landers on October 25, 1952 at St. Patrick’s Church in Watertown. Mr. Landers, a retired employee of Western Electric Company, passed away April 11, 2008.
She lived many years in Gouverneur before moving to Georgia to be near her son and his family. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cooking.
Gloria is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Al and Cheryl Landers of Buford, GA, her beloved grandchildren Cara Rose Pecca, Danielle Landers, and Julie Landers. She is predeceased by her parents and her husband Robert.
